Discrimination and racism

Discrimination and racism are prohibited in Finland. Nevertheless, they do occur. The website of the Non-Discrimination Ombudsman contains useful additional information. The site also includes a form that can be used to report discrimination you have either experienced or observed.

If you suspect that you have been discriminated against when applying for a job or at work, first try to resolve the matter at your workplace. For example, the shop steward or safety representative may be able to help you resolve the matter.

If the issue cannot be settled at work, please contact the Regional State Administrative Agency for Northern Finland’s Department of Occupational Health and Safety.
